List the functions the customer needs
Begin with specific requirements: readable menus, phone connection, navigation use and any other essential function. Ask which have been demonstrated on the offered vehicle. A brochure feature name may leave important details unanswered, such as language coverage or network dependence. Treat a function that has not been checked as pending rather than assuming that a familiar screen layout guarantees the customer’s intended use.
Ask for a continuous screen demonstration
Request a dated video showing the relevant settings and operations on the candidate. Include the system version if it can be documented without exposing personal information. Screenshots from another car should be identified as references. Keep this evidence alongside the original version record, because hardware, software and market differences can affect what the customer receives even when the exterior badge is the same.
Clarify accounts and connected services
Ask whether the proposed functions require registration, a supported phone number, an app account or a data connection. Identify any unresolved destination limitations and who can confirm them. Do not ask the seller to share personal passwords; discuss appropriate account removal and legitimate transfer arrangements. Basic on-car operation and remote services should be listed separately so one successful demonstration is not taken as proof of the other.
Avoid promises about future changes
An anticipated update is not a currently verified feature. If an offer relies on a proposed software change, request its source and status and keep acceptance conditional until the requirement is actually resolved. Do not describe unofficial modifications as equivalent to manufacturer-supported functions. Retain the specification demonstrated at inspection so later discussions can distinguish an agreed capability from a hoped-for improvement.
Plan maintenance beyond the first drive
Identify who can provide suitable service and diagnostic support at the destination. Ask about parts identification and the process for obtaining required items using the actual vehicle details. The battery and range-extender guide helps identify systems that need attention. A general claim that parts are available is less useful than a clear route for diagnosis, ordering and responsibility when a specific problem arises.
Put support terms into the offer
Any warranty or assistance offered should identify the responsible provider, coverage, exclusions and destination applicability. Avoid inferring an overseas arrangement from a domestic policy or a manufacturer logo. Include confirmed functions and outstanding support questions in the dealer quotation request. This allows the importer to evaluate the vehicle together with the practical service arrangement instead of discovering an essential gap after handover.
