Define the customer’s accepted finished state
List required status, useful functions, appearance limits and material findings before choosing work. The condition-route foundations separate new-car requirements from used history and assessment. A generic refurbishment package cannot diagnose every candidate, and an unused description cannot establish that nothing remains to be checked. Ask which concerns are appropriately assessed and which tasks are merely optional preferences. Keep unknown remedy and unpriced items visible. A richer battery or seat package can appeal while the accepted condition remains unresolved. The customer should understand which result is indispensable before a lower amount becomes the reason to pursue the car. This comparison evaluates actual finished proposals, not a universal rule that preparing cheaper stock saves money or that a ready description supplies an unrestricted condition guarantee.
Identify what the work proposal actually establishes
Ask which item is to be addressed, who is responsible and how completion will be evidenced. A component quotation is not proof of the whole remedy or correct finished application. Relevant material concerns need competent assessment and its scope. The repair-history decision retains supported cause, work and current findings where applicable. Keep existing condition, contracted pending work and optional proposals distinct. If preparation changes a material task, request appropriate updated assessment or repeated ordinary response. A general statement that everything will be done should not be credited as the delivered result. Conversely, work already evidenced and included should not be priced again without clarifying its actual boundary. The dealer needs a supported route from current findings to the desired finished state, rather than an allowance that hides different jobs behind one readiness label.
Keep useful configuration and material condition separate
Identify the seat, battery, charging and software benefits the customer actually wants. The comfort premium review and battery value decision weigh those benefits independently. A richer package does not erase unfinished essential work. A working screen cannot clear a battery concern, while a favourable report cannot approve every passenger or receiving function. The inspection guide keeps qualified findings and unassessed areas explicit. For new sourcing, retain status and relevant pre-delivery scope rather than assuming preparation from packaging or low distance. If both candidates fulfil essentials, a deliberate preference can earn value; if one essential result remains unconfirmed, keep that proposal conditional. The comparison should describe what each actual car supports, not declare the higher-grade unfinished unit preferable because its brochure list looks longer.
Compare real amounts under the same boundary
Retain currency, date, unit reference, vehicle price, itemised work, keys, charging equipment, accessories and delivery boundary. The quotation guide preserves inclusions and pending external costs. A standard preparation percentage would conceal the material differences between applications and findings. If suppliers propose different remedies, compare intended supported results before choosing by amount. A cheaper partial task may not fulfil the accepted state, while optional cosmetic work may add little to an essential requirement. Do not promise that the discount leaves enough budget for unassessed consequences. Mark costs still awaiting appropriate examination or quotations. Useful value comes from a clearer finished comparison, not from a nominal total containing assumptions the buyer cannot evaluate. The actual amount should remain attached to the car and work scope it describes.
Decide whether to prepare this unit or choose another
Compare the resulting acceptable proposal with the ready alternative using each unit’s own evidence. If material findings or costs remain beyond the buyer’s limits, seek further appropriate assessment or another eligible route instead of treating the allowance as a solution. Record essential completion as a condition and optional appearance as a deliberate preference. The replacement review requires a new candidate’s own preparation record if the supplier changes cars. Send a ROX 01 enquiry with the wanted finished state, permitted concessions and quotation boundary. The final recommendation should explain the supported benefit, remaining requirements and reason the selected route is suitable for this customer. Neither a low amount nor a ready label can replace individual evidence, completed scope and honest limits, and no universal repair saving or future reliability claim follows from the difference.
Choose the next action
| Requirement or finding | Buying response |
|---|---|
| Remedy is not appropriately assessed | Keep work and amount unresolved until scope is clear. |
| Extra package is attractive | Value it independently of essential readiness. |
| Quotes cover different results | Align supported finished scope before comparing totals. |
Questions buyers ask
Does a discount prove the unfinished car will cost less overall?
No. Establish the required work and actual quotations, retaining unresolved costs. A lower vehicle amount cannot guarantee the final accepted proposal is cheaper.
Does a ready description replace individual findings?
No. Ask what completion and assessment actually establish on that unit. The accepted finished record still needs relevant current evidence and clear limits.
