ROX 01 Public Charging Compatibility: A Buyer Test Record

One successful charging session is evidence for the identified car, station and conditions. It is not proof that every charger in another country will work. Before buying, match the candidate to the intended charging network and request a useful session record where compatibility is important.

01

Name the intended charging setup

Identify the destination and the station or network the customer expects to use. Record the relevant equipment details rather than relying on a country name alone. Nearby charging availability and vehicle compatibility are different questions. A dealer needs enough information to ask the appropriate provider about the actual proposed arrangement.

The charging equipment overview connects this station record with the car’s port specification. Keep access arrangements, payment requirements and equipment identity distinguishable. A station that appears on a map is not automatically a usable option for the selected car or for the receiving customer.

02

Identify the exact vehicle-side equipment

Request the actual charging port and label photographs, vehicle records and included-equipment list. Establish whether the candidate has any disclosed charging-related changes. A connector that looks familiar in a distant photograph can leave important details unresolved, particularly where the sales description blends China and global-market specifications.

Treat an adapter proposal as its own professional assessment. Physical fit does not establish communication, rating or permitted use. Have the relevant provider review the applicable vehicle and station documentation rather than accepting a general statement that the seller has an adapter for everything.

03

Record an observed charging session

Where appropriate and permitted, have the seller or qualified provider document a normal session with the identified vehicle and station. Record the date, starting state, relevant conditions and observed result. Retain meaningful station and vehicle displays while keeping private payment and account information out of shared records.

If the task is timed charging, the 20–80% charging-time guide addresses that separate measurement. A compatibility observation should first establish whether the agreed session was initiated and completed as described. An isolated peak-power photograph cannot explain the complete result or certify performance at another station.

04

Keep session problems open for assessment

If the session fails, stops unexpectedly or shows a warning, record what was observed and ask the responsible provider to interpret it. Do not diagnose the vehicle or blame the station from a short clip alone. Identify what additional evidence or examination is needed before making a purchase acceptance decision.

The used-car review provides the wider condition context. A successful session does not close every battery or charging-system question; an unsuccessful one does not by itself prove a particular component failure. Clear records help the provider separate equipment, access and vehicle concerns.

05

State what the test does not establish

Keep a source-market session separate from destination validation. Station hardware, network arrangements and environmental conditions may differ. The receiving buyer should see which part of the intended overseas setup has been reviewed and which remains untested. Avoid a promise that a car charges everywhere based on one favourable result.

Use the home charging plan for a different ownership route. If public access is essential to daily use, resolve the relevant destination compatibility question before relying on it in a running-cost estimate. A feasible backup plan should also be described accurately rather than assumed from a brochure range figure.

06

Put the result in the delivered record

Retain the candidate identity, equipment descriptions, demonstrated result, qualified findings and outstanding questions. For new stock, connect the relevant check with pre-delivery preparation. For used stock, add the applicable history and condition assessment. Keep the provider and agreed acceptance point visible in both cases.

The release checklist keeps the record attached to the delivered vehicle. Repeat the relevant review if a unit or important equipment is substituted. The receiving dealer can then explain a specific charging result without converting it into unsupported network-wide compatibility or a universal fast-charge-time guarantee.
